Pallets of Sod (500') in plastic bags for shipping in cold (below 32 F) to prevent freezing during transport. The sod still generates some heat late in the year. There's nothing worse than a customer getting a delivery of sod and it's frozen together and can't even get it off the pallet. The bags are a pain for us but the customers luv them!J. Picking up large debris like sticks and pine cones is a good way to do lots of bending over. Another chore is to lightly rake your lawn. Not only will your be gathering small debris but also allowing the sun to warm the ground and let air get to the plants and soil. Pay attention to any areas that are completely covered by leaves and get them removed.J.
